Ascents update and facebook

Hi!

Just came back from a short shooting trip to Switzerland. Filmed some great ascents and made some important interview. Also met some great people…

Michele Caminati climbed on saturday The Dagger 8B+ in Cresciano:

Paul Robinson made the ascent of From Dirt Grows the Flowers 8C in Chironico - Photos from climbing photographer Fred Moix :

Also, Better Than Chocolate has now a facebook fanpage that you can find here: Better Than Chocolate

Noooooooooooooo! I wanna stay!

After so much fun (and rain), it was time to give back the keys of the apartment and head back to Belgium. It’s with good memories and a little bit of sadness that yesterday i drove back to Belgium.

Despite the horrible weather, we climbed and filmed more than expected during the few sunny days! Am i finally starting to get a little less bad at this ;)

The number of boulders filmed is now more than 60 (!!!), which i never expected. The boulders will be spread both on the movie and the bonus, the movie focusing on the best lines and those best filmed. But that is not it, there are still climbers i want to film and places that deserve to be in the movie so as soon as good weather comes back, i will be going to switzerland for another few days and end the shooting of the movie. In the meantime, i can get started with the edit!

Keep the psychedness at maximum level.

Ciao, Haroun

Today the plan was to try to climb in Brione despite the risk of snow. Turned out that most of the boulders were dry and the snow just made the scenery even better!
It was also a pretty good climbing day: Michele Caminati climbing Ganymede Takeover 8A+ (photo: Patrick Lenniger) and Amber 8A+, Andy Gullsten and Antoine Eydoux climbing Fake Pamplemousse.

Good weather is here, finally.
We had a really good day yesterday: as Anton had to leave for Finland, we went first on Kirk Windsten and he sent it on the first go of the day, happy ending for his trip! Then we filmed a shit load of boulders. What a change after so much rain… Even the blue sky seemed artificial after so much grey!
Maybe the most happy of us was Sai (photo), spending the whole day staring at the forest of Cresciano.

After still more and more rain, we got a brake on saturday morning so we headed for Cresciano. Kirk Windsten 8A+ was the main objective and Andy Gullsten climbed it. Unfortunately, rain joined us and it was finished…
Good news is that weather forecast are nice from tuesday to friday so much climbing and filming planned this week! End of the rain????

A little sun!

Today it was sunny, so we headed for Brione, where half of the boulders were wet. Andy Gullsten and Antoine Eydoux joined the group. Andy had a god first climbing day, onsighting Scellar Door 8A… Classic line!

Now let’s hope weather gets good soon again… Ciao

Despite the bad skin and the horrible weather, Chris Webb Parsons managed to do the first ascent of Bella Luna, 8B+. Bella Luna adds 6 hard moves to Alphane Moon, 8A.
The 6 hard moves would make a solid 8A+ boulder by themeselves, making Alphane Moon much more challenging. A new challenge in Chironico, filmed for Better than Chocolate
Now lets hope for good weather!

A little window of opportunity

Good weather…

Since Thursday, it’s only been clear blue sky. Boulders take time to dry after all these rainy days but there is enough dry rocks to get busy.

Like most tof the days, Thursday starts with a pause at the mcdonalds to get internet…

First stop is the Alpha Moon project. Alpha Moon is an overhanging 8A in Chironico. The project is to add 6 crazy hard moves for a low start. These added moves would probably be at least 8a+ by themselves…

Chris is pretty close from linking the project, falling 2 moves before the end.

Next stop of the day was the Boogalaga boulder where many climbers were already at work. Chris was resting but Anton Johansson, Alex Puccio and Olivier Mignon gave a few tries on Walker On Earth 8A. Anton showed his tendon strength, topping the boulder while the 2 others hurt their finger in the mono…

THE mono

Today is the last day of sun for a long time so we will definitely be climbing and shooting. Ciao

SUN
